Do You Know How To Lose Weight With Vinegar?

lose weight with vinegarWhether your priority is to get and stay fit or just to keep your weight under control, there are circumstances when a vinegar diet can add that something extra to help you achieve your goals. Did you know that you can lose weight with vinegar added to your diet?

It is a little known fact that numerous trials have shown that adding vinegar to meals increases the feeling of fullness.

Second helpings or just finishing off your plateful will become things of the past if you sprinkle some vinegar on your meal. Vinegar really is natures gift to man.

Different Varieties of Vinegar

There are way over twenty different varieties of vinegar types, so choosing a flavor that suits you should not be difficult.

  • The British traditionally like malt vinegar, particularly on their national dish of fried fish and chips,
  • The Italian upper classes favor balsamic vinegar, which can be matured for up to 100 years in a variety of types of wood and is made from grapes and is highly aromatic.

Fortunately developments in the production of balsamic has allowed the price to come into the range of us mere impecunious mortals and it has become highly popular worldwide in the last two decades.

Of the many fruit vinegars perhaps the most popular, and beneficial health wise, is apple or cider vinegar. As with all fruit type vinegars the taste of the original fruit remains present.

So no excuses, if for any reason you are unable to carry out your usual weight loss exercise regime just add vinegar to your meals, or even if you are fit, healthy and ready to get up and go, adding vinegar can only do you good.

It can also make your grub taste better!

OK so you really have put in that extra yard down at the gym, or that extra mile on your morning jog and every muscle and joint aches so much you wonder whether it is really worth all that effort to feel so tired and sore.

Vinegar has the answer

  • Tired muscles, even sprains can be soothed by wrapping a cloth soaked with apple cider vinegar and wrapped around the sore area. Leave it on for about five minutes then top up the vinegar and reapply. For extra pain relief add a liberal helping of cayenne pepper or tabasco this really works.
  • In the summer, the sun can take its toll when on that daily jog and, if you run out of sun cream, vinegar will come to the rescue. It will cost you a lot less than those expensively packaged lotions.
  • Simply mix half apple cider vinegar and half olive oil, the combination will help to prevent sunburn and it will also protect against chapping when cold winter winds attack.
  • Finally after all the effort you have put in, a relaxing shower beckons but sometimes there are hidden problems.

Athletes Foot may strike! Your feet between the toes start to itch, the skin peels and small cracks appear. By now you should know the answer.

Rinse your feet in plain or apple cider vinegar several times a day. You should also soak your socks or hose in one part vinegar added to five parts water for half an hour to kill off the fungi before washing in the usual way.

    Hi Soul

Yes, taking vinegar in any form is beneficial.
Try adding 1 spoonful of honey and 1 spoonful of cider vinegar to a glass of hot water and have it first thing in the morning.

Sorry to be so long in replying to your plea for help. My excuse is that I have been trying to find an answer that will encourage you to keep working on your weight and beauty problems. You probably won’t find these suggestions what you were hoping for but here is my advice.

Keep in mind the old saying that beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Many young women are far too critical of their looks, we can’t all look like the models that feature ‘ad nauseum’ in the media, just think how boring men would find us if we all had similar figures and features. Men don’t all have the same tastes as the magazines would like us to believe. As long as you are true to yourself by keeping up your endeavours to lose weight, but being careful not to overdo the diet and exercises, and not be tempted to experiment with pills or drugs that may affect your health my hope is that you will achieve peace of mind and realise that there is so much more to happiness than just looking like a top model.

As long as you are dieting sensibly and pushing yourself with a planned daily fitness regime you will achieve the potential nature planned for you. Vinegar and honey are both healthy and natural additions to your diet but they alone will not solve your weight or beuuty problems. Being and looking happy is the most attractive look of all.

hi if i had vinegar before and after every meal would it help weight loss? i love malt vinegar i could drink it all day is malt vinegar good?

    • Editor says:

      Hi,
Yes, malt vinegar can be a valuable aid to weight loss by increasing your metabolism. We suggest no more than two tablespoons of malt vinegar mixed with water over a period of three months can lead to a slimmer waist, weight loss, lower body mass index and reduce fat.
Apple cider vinegar can be used for weight loss. Add a single teaspoon of apple vinegar to a glass of warm water to melt away fat and moderate your appetite.
We must warn that there are side effects associated with the overuse of vinegars. They contain acetic acid which is corrosive and can damage the oesophagus, stomach, kidneys, teeth and lead to osteoporosis. Do keep your consumption of vinegars down to reasonable levels and gain the many health benefits without risking any harmful side effects.

Today a friend shared one of fish & chips that had malt vinegar, maybe only a teaspon amount – she said she loves vinegar and she is 5’2 and size 2. I weigh 120 Kgs (overweight !!!) an hour later I was surprise how full I felt like if I had over eaten. 6 hours later I still feel full ! I was curious and googled “vinegar as a diet”. Now I know why people say it gives them a full feeling. I’m going mix some into food to help me lose some of the weight. I’ve read that to increase metabolism it helps to keep sugar levels even by balancing at every meal a mix of slow carbo, high carbs and protein so to not get the body to turn sugar into fat but that leaves a hungry feeling sometime and soon am off the diet. Vinegar might help stay on the diet as it increases metabolism, and may it follows I’ll have increase energy for more excercise, so on and so on. It’s a place to start !

Thanks for the article and comments :)

  9. ita says:

Will a Non-Fruit Vinegar work too?? Because thats what i could find here. Please suggest.

    • Jaks Lloyd says:

      Hi Rita,
There are many types of non fruit vinegars, various cereals, honey, palm tree sap, rice, cane sugar, beer and many other non fruit sources are used to produce vinegars that have their own distinctive flavours. They all have one thing in common, acetic acid that is produced in the fermentation process that becomes a vinegar is the main ingredient along with water. It is therefore reasonable to assume that any or all non fruit vinegars will just as effective as fruit vinegars in a weight loss program. I trust this answers your question satisfactorily.
